The summer is well under way but the summer season is only just about to begin. We have been busy inter season finishing off our winter season, handing back chalets, organising chalets for next season, end of year accounts and preparing for the summer. We have of course managed to do other things, Anne has been back in the UK with Aiden visiting family. I was looking after cycling guests in early June for another operator. That was fun and at the end of the second week we all got to ride the Time Megeve cyclosportive. This was a well run event in a great location and will appear on our program for next season, due to be held on June12, 2011. See www.csportmegeve.com for more details if you are interested.

We are now in our final week of guests for the winter ski season and are now looking forward to the summer cycle season. We have had some nice weather and have been cycling in shorts and short sleeves some days. The snow line is steadily retreating up the hill and can look forward to some of the higher cols opening. We have confirmed that we will be operating Chalet Grange a Charlotte in the summer. This is a very nice chalet recently renovated with good sized rooms, ensuite baths, hot tub, free wifi and secure bike storage. It has been extremely popular with our skiing guests over the winter months.

It feels as though the summer season is now well and truly behind us. We are now back in Scotland as we prepare for the 2009/2010 ski season. We are also making our plans for the 2010 cycle season in the Alps when we will be operating our La Tania chalets. Waiting for confirmation of the 2010 Tour de France route so we can plan our TDFAlps week.

Big weekend. Start of the Summer season in the Alps resorts. Last night we were in the Ski Lodge in La Tania for the opening night, quiet but pleasant. Today many of the lifts will be open for general mountain access and mountain bikes.

We have had a fun 2 days here in the Alps both cycling and watching the Tour de France. Yesterday we left Aime along the cycle path to Bourg St Maurice then cycled up the Col du Petit St Bernard, a relatively gentle but long climb of about 30km . After that it was back down to Bourg and the finish of stage16. It was a great atmosphere with a big crowd and hot weather. Standing near the 1 km mark the riders did cycle past in a bit of a blur, the speed coming off the hill was amazing.
